My feline week
Voldemort’s escape was a great reminder for cat-proofing my windows. I built a customized window screen for my 120-year-old kitchen window, and I was pretty impressed about myself.
Crafting was a great change from being online: I was comparing cat food brands for hours and hours. It took me about a day to choose the best cat food. Some of you pointed out that I still have to face the real challenge: convincing my cats to like the food I like. I’ve good news: I talked with Kajsa and Tessa about my order and they didn’t only acknowledge, but also promised me to eat their food. Great! I wonder if I should have videotaped our conversation in case they’ve a lousy memory.
After the ‘which cat food is best’ drama, I needed some offline time. I realized that fact books are sometimes better than the Internet and read some cat books. I want to be prepared when I can get my cats from the shelter. Unbelievable – I’m more than halfway! When I adopted my cats, I had to wait for a month because of their ear mites.
Last, but not least: I reflected on how much my cats mean to me. If I could only comfort the despaired girl I was a year ago. I was in psychiatric ward and wished I could get cats. Now it’s only 10 days until Kajsa and Tessa are coming home! Sometimes dreams come true.
I also discovered blog hopping this week, and I’ll continue with The Cat On My Head’s Selfie Sunday blog hop* today. I thought Kajsa would love to take part. After all, she’s a real millennial since she prefers phones to toys. Trouble is: she’s only a wannabe millennial. She doesn’t want to make selfies, she’s got other plans: to bite on the phone. And she’s very fast…
… but I managed to convince her in the end.
Dear participants of the selfie blog hop: please don’t feel offended, but I’ve to record that I became a crazy cat lady. I wasn’t able to relate to the point of cat selfies when I first heard about this blog hop. I don’t even make selfies myself, so why should I participate in a cat selfie blog hop? I must have lost my mind, but I know think it’s a brilliant and funny thing to do on a Sunday.
Blogger of the week
Engel und Teufel (the angel and the devil) is my blog of the week. It’s a German blog, but you probably won’t need google translate; a typical post consists of many adorable pictures. I’ve always enjoyed looking at their photos, but I didn’t know that their humans were real angels. When they heard about my plans on growing cat grass, they wrote me a long email full of great advice and pictures. Thank you very much, you helped me a lot!
*A blog hop is a specific topic bloggers write about on a certain day. The blog hop (hopping from one blog to another) collects all links, and makes it easy to see how others have interpreted this topic. This posting was part of The Cat On My Head’s blog hop Selfie Sunday:
