Robbery In Plain Sight
You know how humans go crazy before they get visitors? When they’re obsessed with cleaning?
Kajsa is very afraid of vacuum cleaners. She’ll usually hide somewhere in a lair, mortally terrified. I again discovered the benefits of Mom’s cultural roots: nothing can stop her when she’s cleaning the German way; she’s completely lost in her own world, especially under time pressure.
The perfect opportunity to look out for my favorite toy, hehe. Mom’s so stressed that she doesn’t see me, and the vacuum cleaner is so noisy that she can’t hear me.
Oh, and it’s not only for pleasure! I really did my best to prevent The Sister From Hell from invading our place: Mom run out of extra chargers, and her phone died when she was on her way to the terminal. Unfortunately, she spotted her sister without calling her. Bah. I thought I could count on Mom’s face blindness, but apparently she spend most of her life with this person.

Zoe and Raja run from the dreaded vacuum cleaner and only come out when the coast is clear.

Gnarg. Why can’t Tessa behave like a normal cat? /the human

We hate the sucking monster too ; we hide far away, and come back when all is quiet again. Purrs

Hehe, our human learned actually on your blog that cats are afraid of vacuum cleaners! This was before we came home, so she had no experiences with cats. /Tessa and Kajsa

When my mom upends the chairs and moves furniture, I like to explore the new arrangement.
We’ve never heard of cleaning “the German way”, but maybe that’s why my mom was taught to dust the chairs of legs and tables!

We’re so sorry your comment was labelled spam! We don’t know why. Don’t think “the German way” is a standard expression either, but my friends call my cleaning craziness “German style cleaning”. Dusting the legs of chairs and tables is definitely “German way” 😀

No problem. If your blog is set up like mine, the first time someone posts a comment, it must be approved by the blog owner. Now that I’m grown and have a house of my own, I rarely dust the legs of tables, but I still dust baseboards and the tops of door jambs.

Hehe. I do both – but not every time. When I get my cleaning outbursts, my friends laugh about my German roots – and Finnish cleaning standards aren’t very low, actually. /the human

We don’t like that rug sucking monster either. We wish the mom would never bring that thing out of the closet.

They’re obsessed, aren’t they? /Tessa and Kajsa

You are too funny with that charger. I had no idea your Mom has face blindness, I just read a good book about someone with that called You Don’t Look Like Anyone I Know.

Oh, thank you, Ellen, I’ll try to get it at my local library! It’s not very servere, I can recognize friends and family members, but I’ve troubles meeting new people: it takes a long time until I memorize their face / looks. However, I can’t rely on familiar faces either. Once a close friend cut her hair without telling me. When we met at a party, I didn’t recognize her – I introduced myself and asked her how she knew the host (the host was her sister!). /the human

Our Dyson woke up today and boy it sounded cranky!

Hope it’ll break soon. Only a dead vacuum cleaner is a good cleaner! /Tessa and Kajsa

LOL your mom won’t see or hear you. Vacuuming time is a good opportunity indeed 🙂 Goro is not afraid of vacuum cleaner and thinks cleaning time is a fun time to explore through moved furniture and stuff 🙂

Hahaha, Goro and Tessa are for sure relatives!! /The human
