People will always talk
I took Kajsa to the vet the other day because she was having troubles with her anal gland. As I only had to carry one transportation box, I didn’t take our pram. People were still stirring at me, but I felt like a very ordinary person on this bus, taking a casual ride with my cat.
Well, bearing in mind that I often rely on “alternative” means of transportation, like wheelbarrows at our post office or a pram with two cats on the subway, this bus ride was indeed quite normal on my scale, haha.

That is normal, our friend in Houston takes his kitties to the Vet via the bus too!

kajsa…here in the states, in the bigger cities; the bus, EL, subway,
train, and taxi are the only way TO get to the vet, because most don’t want to drive, or have the license to….and I don’t blame them !!! 🙂 ♥

That sounds normal to us too, a friend of us takes her kitties to the vet by bus too. Purrs

This is exactly the same thing with us. But we’re not “upgrading” to a car anytime soon.

Hehe, I can recommend to upgrade to a pram if you get tired of carrying!

In big cities in Canada you see that all the time! Hope ride was not too bad!

That’s totally normal! 🙂 We drive to the vet but I wish there was alternate transportation. From here to the vet, if I don’t have my car, I have to take taxi. I hope Kajsa is doing well now! xo

Eh…let them look. They just wish they had a cat to travel with. We hope Kajsa is okay.

I would have been all interested in meeting the kitty if I were on the bus.

I normally answer each of you because I love to talk with my readers. This time, however, I felt that I can’t do that – I want to write individual answers, but I’d just repeat myself. So I decided to write an answer to all in one reply. 🙂
I think I didn’t get my point through. I also think it’s normal to take a pet by buss to the vet. And I certainly don’t mind people staring.
I was just giggling to myself in the bus as I realized that I was for once doing something normal which attracts people’s attention. I’m known for transporting a lot of weird stuff on the buss. I once bought a bed at IKEA and got it home by buss. My friends also laugh at my wheelbarrow and pram solutions .
I tried to be self-ironic in this post, but apparently, I didn’t get this through 🙂

It was only recently that cats and (non-service) dogs were allowed on our city’s buses. So not only was there animal discrimination, but discrimination against the un-carred!

Right. Eh because of what? Allergies? Don’t think a cat in a box causes more allergy than my clothes? Actually, people eating nuts on public transportation are far more likely to cause harm. Hm. If I was without public transportation, I’m not sure whether I could afford having pets. Taxi bills are very expensive!
