Weekly review – week 16 (2015), Sunday Selfie and Blog Award
My crazy week
Team Shelter had a really eventful week. I was very ill and crossed my limits. I was at the emergency room, but I could go home after a long day. I cut all my aloe vera plants, because I wanted to avoid that my cats need emergency treatment. I was worried about the power balance between my cats, but Tessa was very relaxed and showed off. Tessa was also easy-going when their cage was open, but Kajsa and I were overwhelmed.
In short: many things happened, but the real excitement is still ahead: THIS WAS MY LAST WEEK WITHOUT CATS! 3 days to go!
Cats and Mental Health
I’m happy that I didn’t need an emergency surgery, but if I did, I wished I had a feline nurse. Taking care of a patient’s mental health is crucial to recovery, and this cat certainly knows why.
Sunday Selfie blog hop*
I can’t believe it. I’m not only participating in a cat selfie (?!) blog hop, but I even let my cats write parts of my blog. This feline Internet is really … strange, and I’ve quickly adopted.
Hi, this is Tessa speaking. I think Kajsa is not talented at taking selfies, so I decided to take over this week. Please don’t tell her, because she’ll probably hit me.
Don’t you agree that I’m good at taking selfies? But ok, it’s not entirely Kajsa’s fault, nobody can really resist my beauty. Humans are even fighting about me!
Yesterday, there was this crazy lady at the shelter. No, not the one who is calling herself Mom, though she’s crazy as well. This other lady was standing outside our cage when this Mom-person was about to leave. She admired me, and Mom-person got happy and said that we were her cats. The crazy lady started to tell Mom-person about her cat at home, and that she absolutely had to get me. She was sure I’d be a great playmate for her cat. She offered Mom-person money, and tried to convince her to only take Kajsa. Mom-person said no, and I’m really relieved. I still need to find out what a Mom is though.
Hang on there, Mom-person is saying something.
What? I’ve talked enough for today? OK, fine, but I need to post this picture first: what did I tell you? Kajsa really doesn’t know how to take selfies.
Blogger of the week
My blogger of the week was 15andmeowing, because she gave me my very first blog award!
The Rules:
• Nominate 15-20 blogs and notify all nominees via their social media/blogs (15?!?!?! That’s a lot!)
• Thank and post the link of the blog that nominated you (very important)
• Share 5 facts about yourself to your readers
• Pass these rules on to them
I think it was Noodle For President who commented “(15?!?!?! That’s a lot!)”, and I agree. I’ll go for 5 facts and 10 blogs.
5 Facts about myself
- I was seriously considering getting budgies instead of cats.
- I hardly listen to music. I like some background music whilst I’m driving or cleaning, but that’s the only exception.
- I’m really bad at answering text messages and phone calls
- I love flea markets and second-hand stores
- I can’t cook. Honestly. My friends usually bring their own food when they’re visiting me, because they know that my fridge is most likely empty.
10 pet blogs which are inspiring me
Please bear with me, this is my very first blog award. It was really hard to choose, and I didn’t want to offend anyone. I like you all!
- Pikku Punapippuri , because her blog is so funny!
- Katnip Lounge , because I love that she travelled to Pikku Punapippuri to help her whilst she is in hospital.
- Amanda Green , because she’s the only other blogger who blogs about cats and mental health (as far as I know of)
- The Swiss Cats , because I admire their multilingual blog. They’re blogging in 4 (!) different languages
- Cat From Hell , because I really like her graphics. I admit – I’m jealous of her blog’s name.
- Island Cats , because I adore their high-quality pictures
- The Kitty Corner , because I can relate to almost every post of her A to Z challenge.
- That’s Purfect , because also her A to Z posts are really great
- Sometimes Cats Herd You , because she often posts funny photo stories
- The Lazy Pit Bull , because I love her weekly themed photo challenge.

*A blog hop is a specific topic bloggers write about on a certain day. The blog hop (hopping from one blog to another) collects all links, and makes it easy to see how others have interpreted this topic. This posting was part of The Cat On My Head’s blog hop Selfie Sunday.

April 19, 2015 @ 15:02
Oh and concats on your first award 🙂
April 19, 2015 @ 19:39
Thank you! I’ll tell Kajsa. I’m not too sure though if she cares about her look. She’s more concerned about bossing me and Tessa around.
April 19, 2015 @ 15:51
Kajsa, you will get the hang of taking selfies 🙂 I can’t wait to see your first at home ones next week. That lady at the shelter does sound crazy, a normal person would have been happy they were going home together. Good job following all the award rules and I love that you what you liked about each blog.
April 19, 2015 @ 19:42
I know! Everything is kind of “last time” now, and I can’t wait for the “first times”. I was so shocked about this woman at the shelter that I first didn’t know what to say. I told her that I won’t give her Tessa (under no circumstances, neither for money), and that these cats belong together. She replied that she doesn’t want two cats. Sigh. The staff heard about our conversation, and I hope they’ll remember her.
April 19, 2015 @ 16:09
Sure glad you did not need surgery!
Great Selfies Tessa!!!

Hi Critters In The Cottage, what a great name! I’ll have to find out what this entails as soon as I can open my eyes long enough to read something.

April 20, 2015 @ 12:10
Thank you! And thank you for your wonderful pictures at your blog, they’re really inspiring!
April 20, 2015 @ 05:29
Oh Tessa!
You are a beautiful girl! And we are so happy that you will get to goes home with your Mom person soon. And we want to thank you so furry much for giving us the Creative Blogger Award!
Also thanks yous for liking our blog name! Me has had it since before there was the Cat From Hell TV Show. Mes sometimes wonders if he was miffed that wes had gotted it. Me, Nellie is a Cat From Hell. Mes is furry difficult as mes was quite badly abused. But mes much better now. Me has been known in the family as the Cat From Hell since mes came to lives with them 15 years ago!
We started our blog when Mommy spilled and fell in some jelly she was canning for the farm market. She gotted 3rd and 2nd degree burns on her tushie and needed something that would takes her mind off how much she hurt.
Our Daddy suffers from furry bad depression so wes really understands what your Mom person is going through and wes so furry happy that your Mommy has discovered blogging. Writing about something uplifting (like our antics) really helps to remember how inpawtant our humans is to us animals and helps them with understanding how much they is loved.
Keeps on blogging! (BTW wes won’t bes able to posts about our award for at least a week, Mommy will be coming back to BC this week)
Kisses
Nellie

Thank you so much for four long and thoughtful comment! Don’t stress about writing about your award. It took me one week to find out I’ve gotten an award, and another week to write about it. 😀
Typically me, but I’ve never heard about the cat from hell tv show. It has to be annoying that people assume that you didn’t come up with a great title yourself. 🙁
Urg. I’ve never had any serious (physical) injuries, and 1st/2nd degree burning sounds really bad. I understand, however, that doing something is helpful. I had some bad pain at the emergency room and I so wished I had my computer. It was terrible just to lay down, and reading was impossible. It’d been a great opportunity to understand how child themes work, and to upgrade my blog completely.
I’m sorry to hear that Dad is suffering from mental illness, I wish him all the best!
April 20, 2015 @ 12:11
Bee-ew-ti-ful pictures!
April 20, 2015 @ 12:28
Thank you!!
April 21, 2015 @ 05:05
Tessa, you are truly exquisite. We can imagine humans fighting over you to have you as part of their family. Only three more days until you are in your forever home. This is quite exciting. We are wishing you and Kajsa the best of luck and a happy life. Thanks for being a supporter of our blog hop. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
April 21, 2015 @ 20:31
Thank you! And yes, it’s so exciting that my feelings are totally out of control!
Thank you for hosting this blog hop. As I said – I think it’s a bit crazy to take selfies of your cat, but it’s fun to be crazy. 😉 I’m also showing the linky tool on Sundays. However, my page loads slowly when the linky tool is attached, so I normally edit my post on Monday.
