Christmas Eve
It’s Christmas Eve! Finally – do you remember that Germans traditionally decorate on Dec 24th?? Oh yes, Granny already had some angels and Santa , but now the good stuff shows up.
Mom is very sick and coughing on the sofa, so I thought that I’d help Granny instead. She often laughs when she sees me, so I guess she’ll be happy to get some helping paws.
Talking of helping paws: you probably know that many Europeans celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve. Mom’s family will meet at her brother’s place at about 5 pm. Mom is feeling so bad that she thinks about staying at home with Kajsa and me. Sounds like a great plan to us, but her family wants her to come so that Mom isn’t alone on Christmas Eve.
Alone?!? Mom tried to tell her family that she has wonderful company, but apparently we are “only two cats” and don’t count. ??

Thank you! We think our Christmas was ok – no invasion of small humans at Granny’s place!!!

Staying with you is surely the best Christmas plan! We are sorry that your Mom feels unwell and hope that she gets better quickly so you can get the maximum output from her – Christmas meals are always very yummy. In fact maybe you can have hers if she is not well enough…?
We send you royal greetings from Finland(N) which is sadly a bit icy and cloudy – no crisp clear -20°C and revontulia tonight. However we have been feasting on all the treats and goodies sent by Loyal Readers and thoroughly enjoying it. And tomorrow it happens all over again with an English Christmas. We LOVE multinational households. Now I am sure Veikko and Seppo must have some Russian blood in them so we can extend this well into January.
Hyvää joulua, fröhliche Weihnachten and all that.

Hyvää joulua! Thank you so much for your long and kind comment – we envy your multinational household. Ours (Finnish-German) isn’t exotic enough!! , the holidays are on the same days. Bah. We wonder – those Burmese – is Chinese New Year to far-fetched???

Oh that is tough that mommy is feeling rough! We hope she feels better very soon! We wish you a very merry Christmas! xx
December 26, 2016 @ 23:57
Oh yes, humans feeling sorry for themselves are very rough to handle. We hope she’s done soon and gives us all her attention.
December 24, 2016 @ 21:31
Poor Mom! Hoping she feels better soon, bet she caught it from the plane. That is what happens every time my Mom flies!!
December 26, 2016 @ 23:56
Hmmmmmm, a great theory. We suggest that she never flies again, and that we just stay home. However, she says that Granny was sick first, and she thinks that she got it from her.
December 24, 2016 @ 22:40
We’re hoping your mom feels better. You guys take good care of her.
December 26, 2016 @ 23:55
Thank you! We will make her feel better asap – we need her service for at least 10-15 years to come!!!
December 24, 2016 @ 23:39

Thank you, that is very kind! Merry Christmas to you, too!
December 25, 2016 @ 00:02
I’m sorry your mom is sick. Of course she isn’t alone on Christmas Eve with her two fur babies 🙂 I hope she gets better soon. Merry Christmas!
December 26, 2016 @ 23:52
Thank you! She said that she’ll never be alone with us! Merry Christmas!
December 25, 2016 @ 01:05
i hope your mum soon feels better. I am sure you both would be very good company for her.
December 26, 2016 @ 23:51
Well, they say that it’s important to rest when you’re sick. We just want her to lay down on her back because we love her belly. THEY want her to go somewhere. We think our definition of resting is better. Bah.
December 25, 2016 @ 07:12
They clearly don’t understand your Mom if they think you’re “only cats”…you’re as much family as anybody. I hope your Mom gets better but she has two excellent nurses until she does.
December 26, 2016 @ 23:50
Gay, that’s exactly what Mom thought. “Only”. We spend more time with Mom than anyone else , and we’re very important to her.
