Weekly review – week 18 (2015) and Sunday Selfie

Our first week together

Tada! I’m proud – I only freaked out once this week, because Tessa was gagging a couple of times. Apart from that, we were enjoying some precious moments and a parcel full of gifts and treats! This was definitely Tessa’s week: she stole treats and styled my hair. The A to Z challenge ended on Thursday and I took a break yesterday; I needed a blog-free day. I promised to write about Tessa and the stove, but I’ll catch up next week.

Our relationship has improved: (more…)

Weekly Review – week 17 (2015) and Sunday Selfie

The week of the year!

I suddenly felt that I wasn’t prepared for my cats, and continued catifying my home. It really was a Wordless Wednesday: I thought that I could take my girls home, but I wanted to wait for the vet’s opinion. It was hard to go home without them, and I wrote about my shelter experiences. Thursday was finally Gotcha Day! It’s only April, but I’m sure it was my most favorite day of 2015. Everything went fine, but I freaked out when Tessa denied her food. She finally ate something after I had asked the shelter for advice. (more…)

Weekly review – week 16 (2015), Sunday Selfie and Blog Award

My crazy week

Team Shelter had a really eventful week. I was very ill and crossed my limits. I was at the emergency room, but I could go home after a long day. I cut all my aloe vera plants, because I wanted to avoid that my cats need emergency treatment. I was worried about the power balance between my cats, but Tessa was very relaxed and showed off. Tessa was also easy-going when their cage was open, but Kajsa and I were overwhelmed.

In short: many things happened, but the real excitement is still ahead: THIS WAS MY LAST WEEK WITHOUT CATS! 3 days to go! (more…)

Weekly review – week 15 (2015) and Sunday Selfie

thoughtful catI usually review articles on cats and mental health on Sundays. My week was really busy and I tried to remember what my shrink told me: I need to slow down, so I skipped the articles.

My feline week

Voldemort’s escape was a great reminder for cat-proofing my windows. I built a customized window screen for my 120-year-old kitchen window, and I was pretty impressed about myself. (more…)

Weekly review – week 14 (2015)

My feline week

What a week! Last week was a crazy feline week, whilst I now had a crazy blogging one: the A to Z challenge started on Wednesday. It’s a lot of fun, but also very intensive. I’m reading a lot of blogs and try to come up with post titles for the letter of the day. A was for feline artwork, B for murderer in my bedroom, C for cats and computers, and D for getting things done. In short: my godchild drew a header for my blog. I believed that cats can prevent computer rage behavior, but I got very frustrated when I uploaded my new header. Voldemort was almost causing a heart attack, but at least my furniture is stable now. (more…)

Weekly review – week 13 (2015)

Huh huh. What an emotional week! I was thrilled when I adopted two cats. However, I got very scared whether I made the right decision. I freaked out because I thought I was allergic to cats. I felt ‘pure happiness’ whilst taming my cats. I was sad when I found out that Aloe Vera is toxic to cats. I spent a lot of time shopping cat supplies and choosing cat names.

In short: the cats already own me, and I should really rename my blog to When Sanity’s Away, Hysteria Will Play. (more…)

Weekly review – week 12 (2015)

I thought about having a weekly review on Sundays. I’ll review what happened on my and on other blogs and announce my blogger of the week. And last, but not least: I try to link to all articles dealing with cats and mental health. I’m afraid it’s a very long review this week, because this whole blog thing is so new to me. There were so many things to learn and read! (more…)
