Cozy sleeping position

You know, even we divine cats need a nap every now and then. On one of those rare occasions, I wanted to rest my head on my leg. I don’t know why the human got so excited, but she was admiring me for almost an hour.

About a cat, a dog and a birch

Tessa and Kaja: We were so pleased that you acknowledged our mighty climbing skills yesterday. We’re talented, young and strong girlcats, and trees are our natural habitat. You may even call us the squirrels of all cats! Of course we get down safely! Gotta dash now to boss the cat sitter around. Mom still wants to write something, but we’re offline now.

The adventures of Tessa and me

It’s true, they are nowadays experts on trees. However, there were some minor incidents when they started their tree carrier.

cat is too afraid to come down the tree

Tessa and I were taking a walk when we met a woman with a dog. She didn’t know whether her dog liked cats. I wasn’t sure about Tessa either, but I wanted to give it a try. Everything seemed fine: both were peaceful and curious about each other, but suddenly the dog snarled at Tessa. My brave idiot (the dog was twice her size) snarled back.

cat climbed too high“Oh, so he DOES hunt cats after all – he kills hares!” Eh… Tessa is smaller than the hares in our area!! I panicked and picked Tessa up. Maybe not the best way to deal with a scared cat, but she really appreciated my support: she climbed on my shoulder, and put all her claws deep into my skin. Ouch.

The woman went away, and Tessa run as fast as she could to the closest tree. Great – I think we both needed a break. However, our adventure wasn’t over yet: turned out that 4 meters (13 ft) were too high for her. She didn’t know how to climb down.

Wonderful. We were actually quite close to our home, but I couldn’t leave her because of the leash. So I was waiting under this very birch. And waiting. And waiting. I think my whole neighborhood knows this crazy woman with her cat by now. She finally decided to give it a try after 2 hours. Hallelujah.

We’re coming for you, German cats!

By the way – my trip to Germany wasn’t my first flight. I was travelling to Canada earlier this week to celebrate Canada Day become even more powerful. I visited the Cats From Hell, and they conferred their title on me! So now I’m a Cat From Hell myself!! You’re wondering how I made this happen? Well, I participated in their weekly Finish the Sentence Game and I won! My sentence was I also want to become a Cat From Hell, so on my visit to Canada, you’ve to bestow this title on me!

Cat from HellSo… now to the important part. Kajsa and I are having great plans (more…)

Tessa’s 15 minutes of fame

Tessa writing.

bird perspective on catsI just had to take over today, because you hurt me. Yes, YOU! All of you! You’re happy that Kajsa is getting better, but what about me? I was actually quite satisfied with Kajsa when she was sick. She didn’t boss me around AND I had Mamma for myself. Now I’m under her paw again and Mamma isn’t solely playing with me. Bah.

cat uses trash can as litter trayI made sure I had my big moment though. Mamma was cleaning the litter trays, and again, she wasn’t considering my needs. I decided that I had to pee when Mamma had emptied the last tray. I know, we cats aren’t known for being flexible, but I think it’s more important to confuse humans: it’s dangerous when they think that they’ve understood us felines. So I decided to be flexible. My litter tray is where my litter is, so I climbed on the trash can and peed. It was the perfect timing – long enough for Mamma to stare in disbelief, short enough for a picture. I also made sure to throw some litter on the floor that Mamma had just cleaned. So yes, I was quite satisfied with myself.

Mamma: P.S. Kajsa is back to normal today. She’s been playing with her ball, bossing Tessa around and stressing me a lot. She’s still eating more than she normally does, but that’s great, because she is no big eater.

Tessa is on Ebay

Tessa is a multifaceted cat – she knows how to braid my hair, and now she’s even selling on Ebay! It’s all about perspective, isn’t it? I could complain that she’s destroying my pictures, and that she’s ruining the washed and ironed clothes I want to sell. But I’m a great and loving Mom; I know that grumbling doesn’t stop her appreciate her help.

My first feline Mother’s Day

UPDATE: Pah! I wrote this post yesterday, but Mamma was too lazy to post it! /Kajsa

Hi, Kajsa here. Mamma is still taking a break, but I managed to get my paws on her computer. I won’t do Mamma’s weekly review (what’s the point anyways?? I want food now!), but I need to tell you about our humiliation!

Weekly review – week 18 (2015) and Sunday Selfie

Our first week together

Tada! I’m proud – I only freaked out once this week, because Tessa was gagging a couple of times. Apart from that, we were enjoying some precious moments and a parcel full of gifts and treats! This was definitely Tessa’s week: she stole treats and styled my hair. The A to Z challenge ended on Thursday and I took a break yesterday; I needed a blog-free day. I promised to write about Tessa and the stove, but I’ll catch up next week.

Our relationship has improved: (more…)

The Cat In My Hair

The 1st of Mai is a colorful and cheerful day in Finland. Many people go out on Walpurgis Night (April 30th). On Mai 1st, we have traditional picnics in parks (regardless the weather, and yes, it’s often cold and rainy). I’ve always loved Vappu (that’s what we call the 1st of Mai). Unlike other celebrations, there aren’t any obligations, people are just gathering and having fun. I’m having difficulties with parties because of my mental health situation, but I’ve always tried to join my friends for some hours.

I bought Vappu decoration the other day, thinking that my cats would love to play with it. Well. It wasn’t a big success, but Tessa warmed up eventually.

kissa vappuna

I love to do my hair, and I’m known for my colorful hairdo on Vappu. This year’s version is quite simple (at least in comparison to the last years) and I blame Tessa. (more…)
