A cozy cat bed DIY
I must be crazy that I spent so much time and effort on catifying our apartment: it’s actually very easy to make cats happy.
Apparently, cats love uneven surfaces with bumps. So instead of hanging on the sofa as such, Tessa really appreciates when I give her two pillows.
It’s important that the “lower” pillow is next to the backrest. That way, she gets a cup-shaped bed on three sides: the backrest, armrest and the difference in height between the upper and the lower pillow.
Tessa: Hello? Good for you that you’re so full of yourself, but the most important feature of a bed is actually privacy!

Those pillows really look like comfy places to be. We likes to lie on pillows, too, or on Mommy’s clothes.

Oh yes, clothes are also great, but we don’t like all. Typically we want to use a sweater our human wants to wear this very day. Tessa and Kajsa

Cats really are simple creators. Bet you could throw a pillow in a box for the same comfort level! Sorry we disturbed Tessa’s nap. We’ll just tiptoe out. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy

They’re actually a bit picky when it gets to arranged pillows. 😀 Just any pillow in a box won’t do – unless the box is on a prime spot of interest. Ok, I admit that I do spoil them rotten, so they know they can do better by ignoring things – I’ll keep changing them until they meet their standards. /the human

tessa…we are cracking UP 🙂 at your remark back to your mom !!! ☺♥

She honestly lost it here. How dare she boast about her bed-building-skills (hahahahaha) and then destroying everything by not letting me sleep?? Human logic!! /Tessa

Your cats sure have you well trained….catering to their every whim. As it should be.

…… Yepp. If somebody had told me in a life before cats that I’ll spend time arranging pillows for my cats AND blog about it… /the human

That looks purrfect to me too! We like uneven surfaces because we’ve got uneven bodies!

Hm. Good point! Cats are much more 3-dimensioal than humans. Oh my. I hope I don’t spend a lot of hours googling this theory. I’ve a lot to do today, but this is of course way more interesting and important! /The human

She does look happy.

I would be happy if she’d leave me alone! /Tessa

Tessa sure has it made!

It took less than a week getting our human trained to always try new things to make us happy. /Tessa

Thank you for the DIY tip! Looks like the cup-shape really does the trick!
My boys like laundry basket better than a fancy bed…of course, that’s the cat thing 🙂

Of course! There’s a part 2 to this story, but I didn’t get to post it because I was too busy with visitors. /the human

thanks for the tip! And about Amarula’s big red collar- it is a special Birdsafe Collar that I order from the USA because it is supposed to make cats more visible to songbirds and cut down on cats catching birds – it makes Amarula look like a clown and she hates it but so far she has not been able to catch birds cause they see her coming a mile away!

Thank you for your answer! Good that they see her coming – and of course she hates it! /the human
